DOP District 23 Hosted Mid-Year Leadership Conference

MONTREAL – The Daughters of Penelope (DOP) Beaver District No. 23 Lodge hosted the 2022 Virtual Mid-Year Leadership Conference on Zoom on October 15. It was well attended by members from each of the five cities within the district: London, Hamilton, Toronto, and Ottawa, ON, and Montreal, QC.

District Governor Angela Mouriopoulos and her officers presented news and initiatives from the Governors’ Conference in Washington, DC, as well as ideas for events involving the entire District 23, one of which will include a neighboring District. They encouraged members to attend informative webinars, participate in each other’s events, and help their chapters grow. They also shared the Grand President’s Initiatives and explained the National Charity Walk.

The Leadership Conference was an enjoyable virtual event and a great way to spend a Saturday morning with Sisters, learning and sharing thoughts and ideas. It was attended by Past District Governors Annie Valkanas and Dr. Xanthe Vafopoulou, Past Canadian President Zambetoula (Betty) Drakontaidis, Grand Governor Zone V Nicki Douklias, and Grand Secretary Margaret Dritsas. Maids of Athena Grand Secretary Ally Tsenekos stopped by to introduce herself as the Grand Liaison to the District 23 Maids of Athena, and Grand President Georgette Boulegeris came to deliver her greetings.
