Dendias Has Meeting with Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Theodoros II

ATHENS — Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Friday met his Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, who briefed him on the Patriarchate's extensive work in Egypt and the rest of the African continent.

"Work that is social, humanitarian, spiritual, cultural and educational, which is done with the assistance of an extensive network of metropolitan sees and archdioceses," a foreign ministry announcement said.

Dendias highlighted the importance of the Patriarchate's activities for Africa as a "shining example of the successful presence of the Orthodox faith in the region," and assured him of Greece's support and interest in his work.
