Dendias Cancels Meeting with Egyptian FM Amid Fears of Contracting COVID-19

November 11, 2020

ATHENS — The scheduled Wednesday meeting of Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias and visiting Egyptian Foreign Affairs Minister Sameh Shoukry has been cancelled, the ministry announced.

Dendias will go into precautionary quarantine as of the same day, following his contact with a person who has tested positive to the novel coronavirus, added the ministry.

Skoukry is accompanying Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who is on a two-day offical visit to Athens.

Egypt's president is meeting with Greek officials in Athens, on his first visit to the southern European nation since the two countries signed a deal demarcating maritime boundaries between them in the eastern Mediterranean.
