WILMINGTON, DE – With the spiritual guidance of the Metropolis of New Jersey Chancellor, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Christoforos Oikonomidis, the Delaware Valley Youth Commission held its annual Religious Education Workshop on October 29 for all Youth Leaders of the area.
This year, with the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, it featured keynote speaker His Grace Bishop Athenagoras of Nazianzos, Director of the Department of Religious Education, and Chief Secretary of the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
The event was graciously hosted by the parish of the Holy Trinity in Wilmington, Delaware and was very well attended with over 60 participants, including clergy of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, catechists, Sunday school directors, youth advisors and coaches who had the chance to learn about existing programs and future projects of the Archdiocese that are all targeted at enhancing and improving the Religious Education Ministry.
