Kurougliev: I am very grateful to the Greek people and Greece
After the match Kurougliev said that he went to Paris for the medal and thanked God and the whole of Greece for their support.
“Thank you very much. I came here for the gold. God gave me this medal. I thank the Greek people and Greece for giving me the opportunity to fight in the Olympics. Especially the Prime Minister, Mr. Mitsotakis, the Minister of Sports, Mr. Vroutsis and Kostas Thanos.
I wish the young people in Greece to be involved in sports, to go to the gyms, to love their families and their parents. I was young myself. I started in the gym and you saw where I am today.
I was 100% ready at the last seconds. I was holding the opponent and I was sure I wasn’t going to give him those points he wanted.
I really thank my coaches because without them I wouldn’t have had this win. To all the Greek fans, you always protect us and we will bring you medals.”
