Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
NEW YORK – The Daughters of Penelope (DOP) Ilion Chapter 135 held its first Comedy Night Fundraiser at Governor’s Comedy Club in Levittown, NY, on January 15.
Chapter President Effie Argyropoulos said: “We are so humbled to have had such an outpouring of support from our Sisters and Brothers from Chapters within the Empire State District 6 Family and from our family and friends. We certainly have come a long way within the last three years. Chapters went from in person meeting and events to virtual meetings and virtual events. Sunday night was like a breath of fresh air. It was so nice to hear laughter and to see everyone was enjoying themselves.”
“Our Chapter keeps brainstorming with ideas for fun events and I am happy to announce that our next event is scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 7 PM, at Terrace on the Park,” she continued. “The Ilion Chapter will be celebrating its 78th Anniversary and all are welcome to attend.”
