Daughters of Penelope Host Festive Christmas Bingo in South Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Daughters of Penelope (DOP) Narcissus Chapter 289 in Ft. Lauderdale wished everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year via email as they shared an update on their successful Christmas Bingo which included 33 attendees on December 11.

The event had a Christmas theme with some of players sporting unique holiday hats and attire. They played eight bingo games including three regular games, Three Wise Men, a Star, a Manger and two coveralls. Christmas music played in the background, adding to the festive spirit. Gift cards to Outback, Amazon, Target, Panera, McDonald’s and Starbucks were awarded to the winners. Everyone enjoyed themselves and Bingo Caller Mona Monezis Kapakos made the game extra fun.

According to the Chapter, “We have donated over $1,300 from the Bingo games to St. Demetrios. A great way to help the church, have fun and make new friends. Not only members of our community, but friends we have locally and from New York and New Jersey!”

In attendance were DOP Grand Secretary and Liaison to Citrus District 2 Georgette Boulegeris, Citrus District 2 Lt. Governor Eftyhia Kirkiles, Secretary Ann Pirrello, and Treasurer Dorothy Xanos. Past District Governor Ourania Stephanides and AHEPA District 6 Secretary Chris Pappis also attended. “It was an honor to have you with us,” the Chapter stated via email, adding their thanks to everyone for playing and supporting the effort.

On Friday, February 12, 2021, 7:30 PM, the chapter hosts a Virtual Valentine’s Day Bingo with lots of prizes and lots of fun all for the benefit of St. Demetrios. Everyone is welcome!
