NICOSIA (AP) — A Cypriot court has ordered the extradition of a Greek soldier suspected of links to an anarchist terror group in his native country.
The court said Tuesday that the extradition of the 23-year-old, who is serving with the Greek military contingent on the ethnically split island nation, should be completed within 10 days.
Cypriot police arrested the soldier on Monday on the strength of a European arrest warrant issued by Greece.
An official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he’s not authorized to give details of the case, said the soldier had sent 50 euros via a money transfer service to a man in Greece suspected of belonging to the Conspiracy Cells of Fire group.
The group has claimed several attacks, including letter bombs sent to European leaders.
