July 15, 2024

NICOSIA – Cyprus’ Parliament has ratified an agreement that allows Cypriots to travel to the United States without a visa, requiring the sharing of travel information, the island’s government getting free software to assist with it.

If all the deadlines are met then Cypriots could begin going to the US without a visa as soon as early 2025, with the deal allowing eligible travelers to visit for tourism or business purposes without obtaining a visa under certain requirements.

To achieve the deal, Cyprus had to bring the visa rejection rate by the US under 3 percent, finally obtained and letting residents who are members of the European Union to travel without the requirement.
