BUENOS AIRES -- An international literary competition on "200 years of Freedom and Hellenism" is being organised by the Greek Cultural Organisation "Nostos", based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Hellenes Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the foreign ministry.
The competition, organised in collaboration with the Writers' Association of Argentina (SADE), is aimed at Greeks and philhellenes everywhere, giving them the opportunity to participate with a work written in one of four languages: Greek, Spanish, Italian or English.
"Our experience from the three previous International Literary Competitions, but also in general, from the many and successful events in the 15 years of our existence, make us optimistic that this year's competition will be crowned with success, with the sole purpose of "promoting our homeland in all the lengths and breadths of the Earth," Nostos President Christina Tsardikou said to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).
All the awarded works (poetry or literary essays) will be first published in an electronic anthology, in order to highlight the thoughts, reflections and concepts associated with the values and the current message of the Greek struggle for freedom, a universal message, particularly associated with world history and literature.
The deadline for submission of works is August 1, 2021. The projects must be submitted to the email address firstname.lastname@example.org following the terms and conditions described in detail on the website of Nostos (https://nostos.org.ar).
