Free Virtual Screening of Greece’s Oscar Entry ‘Apples’ on Jan. 17

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Greek Film Festival - in association with UCLA Stavros Niarchos Foundation Center for the Study of Hellenic Culture - offers a free virtual screening of the Greek Oscar entry APPLES, on January 17. The film will stream for 24 hours starting at 11 AM on Sunday, January 17.

A pre-recorded interview with director Christos Nikou and LAGFF advisor and renowned cinematographer Phedon Papamichael will follow the screening. The program will include INDEX, a short film by Nicolas Kolovos, also in the running for an Oscar.

According to the film’s description, amidst a worldwide pandemic that causes sudden amnesia, middle-aged Aris, finds himself enrolled in a recovery program designed to help unclaimed patients build new identities.
