CHANIA – Crete is one of the top destinations chosen by the Chinese for their holidays, said the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Greece, Xiao Junzheng, who, as part of his visit to Crete, met with the mayor of Chania, Panagiotis Simandirakis, at the town hall of Chania.

According to the announcement, “Simandirakis, while welcoming the ambassador and the officials to Chania, underlined the long-standing good relations between the two countries, but also the countless areas of cooperation that exist on a national and local level.

Among the topics discussed, particular emphasis was placed on tourism, education and culture, while as the ambassador pointed out, Crete remains among the top destinations chosen by the Chinese for their holidays, with their interest in Greece remaining undiminished.

Afterwards, the ambassador of China visited the Municipal Art Gallery of Chania.
