Contemporary Greek Art in Berlin at GOING VIRAL

December 14, 2021

BERLIN – Against the backdrop of the pandemic and a world where the lives of thousands of people can be affected by the actions of a single person, GOING VIRAL, a forthcoming exhibition in Berlin, explores how we can coexist in the future as humans.

Fourteen early career Greek artists who have participated in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Artist Fellowship Program from ARTWORKS* will show paintings, visual arts videos, sculptures, and installations from January 20 to March 3, 2022. The exhibition is presented by the nonprofit AthenSYN, in collaboration with ARTWORKS and with the support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

The first two days of the exhibition will feature a symposium with workshops, screenings, and discussion on issues of sustainability, self-organization, and alternative economies in which artists, theorists, and activists from Greece and Germany will take part.

*The ARTWORKS program is an SNF initiative that aims to support artists in Greece. To date SNF has supported more than 300 artists in Greece through the program.
