Consulate General of Greece in Chicago on a New Course

BOSTON – Since September 28, 2021 with the appointment of the new Consul General Emmanuel Koubarakis the Consulate General of Greece in Chicago is on a new course of activities and development on all levels and in all sectors.
Specifically, Koubarakis visited his Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago and then began a series of visits to important Greek-American businesses.
He met in Aurora, IL with Tassos Chronopoulos of Tassos.com, which imports products from Greece. The same day he visited the Fresh Farms Supermarket in Niles, IL and met with owner Dean Svigos. Fresh Farms operates four Supermarkets in the Chicago area where they also sell Greek products.

Discussions were held about the challenges that individuals and the community faces and about ways strengthen economic relations with Greece through the promotion of Greek exports and encouragement of investments in Greece. Also present was Dimitris Petropoulos, who is in charge of the Economic and Commerce Office at the Consulate.

Koubarakis made his first public appearance on October 3 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago where at the end of the Divine Liturgy the Hellenic Association of Lawyers was honored.
Koubarakis also visited the Hellenic-American Academy and met with its officials there.
