Close Your Eyes Skin Lover, You’re On the Greek Isles – in San Francisco

How great is this? You're lying in a skincare studio in San Francisco, looking at what little decorations there are in a minimalist setting and it seems you're floating away to the Greek islands.

That's just what the designer of Monastery, Jacqueline Sullivan, had in mind when choosing the décor, picking what reminds of the Cycladic islands architecture and flora, to get you in that relaxed mood wondering what's behind the Platinum door.

She picked on the Greek heritage of the brand's founder, Athena Hewett, assembling an oh-so-modest look of a white-washed interior, punctuated with colorful objects and sculptural furniture, said the site The Spaces.

A chartreuse lacquered display table designed by Los Angeles studio Waka Waka provides a focal point, with complementary lighting and shelving filled with small objects, ceramics, stones and Greek candlesticks.

Hewett said her introduction into aromatherapy came from her grandmother, who would press skin-healing oil from their home-grown herbs and plants, the approach she takes to her place's ethos.

There's dried flower sculptures against a white wall to make sure you think you're in Greece, home of the sun.
