Clashes at Migrant Reception Centre on Lesbos

LESBOS, Greece – Clashes occurred late on Sunday at the Reception and Identification Centre for Migrants and Refugees in Moria, Lesvos, and more specifically in the area housing about 350 unaccompanied minors.

According to police sources, the clashes began at midnight and continued until early on Monday. Damage has been caused to UNHCR’s premises for refugees, and to faciities used by a non-governmental organisation, as well as to accommodation centres.

Police and a public prosecutor rushed to the area.
