Ecumenical Patriarch Offers Condolences to President of Ukraine

CONSTANTINOPLE – His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in a letter to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed his deep sorrow over the Ukraine International Airlines plane crash that claimed the lives of 176 passengers early in the morning of Wednesday, January 8.

The Ecumenical Patriarch expressed his heartfelt condolences and the sympathy and support of the Mother Church, praying to God for the repose of the souls of the victims coming from seven countries, and to give courage to their families to deal with their grief.
