LARISSA, Greece – A cat in Greece is getting on with one of his nine lives after a terrible injury, Inside Edition (IE) reported on July 18.
“Last year, Perseus the cat was brought to a veterinary clinic in the town of Larissa,” IE reported, adding that “the poor, homeless kitty had suffered a terrible injury: he’d lost three of his legs. It was suspected he’d been hit by a car or been caught in a car engine.”
In an effort to help the cat, veterinarian Sofia Zoi and a team of designers and engineers “came up with a high-tech solution for Perseus,” IE reported, noting that they “fashioned titanium legs and used 3-D printing to craft new paws.”
Fitted up with his new paws, Perseus was able “face new adventures,” IE reported, adding the mythological origins of Perseus’ name- “Perseus was a hero who slew the monster Medusa. The constellation of Perseus, said to depict that scene, is visible in the northern sky.”
