Greece at the Forefront of New Business & Investment Opportunities – Excellent Forum Timing
Greece has made a dynamic comeback in the global capital markets and the global investment community but this is the first step. Looking ahead, despite the challenges stemming from the pandemic, there is a new reality and potential in Greece today. Modernization and investments are at the heart of the “Greece 2.0” program, the largest plan developed in the modern history of the county aiming to change the economy model, transforming it into a competitive and extroverted one, with a digital and efficient state. The approximately EUR 31 billion that will be disbursed by the Recovery and Resilience Facility – in addition to the funds from the European Development Programs included in the new EU budget for the period 2021-2027 – can be the foundation for Greece to attract the significant and additional foreign investments that the country needs.
The timing for this Forum is excellent, as it will highlight the significant progress made so far and the potential that lies (or that can be unlocked) ahead. It will highlight Greece’s competitive advantages and focus on business and investment opportunities across the major sectors of the economy.
Top Delegation of Government & Business Leaders Addressing the Who’s-Who of Wall Street & Main Street
Every year, a delegation of senior government officials, led by the Prime Minister, and a group of private sector business leaders update a global audience on the reforms, developments and outlook of the Greek economy and each of the main sectors highlighting trends, challenges and opportunities. Furthermore, a group of international investors and financiers share their insight on Greece as a Business and Investment Destination.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will address the Forum via webcast. The Hellenic government officials participating include Minister of Finance Christos Staikouras, Minister of Development & Investments Adonis Georgiadis, Alternate Minister of Finance for Fiscal Policy Theodoros Skylakakis, Alternate Minister of Development & Investments Private Investments & PPPs Nikos Papathanasis, Deputy Minister of Development & Investments Yannis Tsakiris, Deputy Minister of Labor & Social Affairs Panos Tsakloglou, Secretary General for Energy & Mineral Resources Alexandra Sdoukou, Governor of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR) George Pitsilis and Public Debt Management Agency (PDMA) Director General Dimitrios Tsakonas.
Pfizer Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Albert Bourla is the keynote speaker for the event.
At the award dinner, the 2021 Capital Link Hellenic Leadership Award will be presented to Alex Fotakidis, Partner, Head of Greece – CVC Capital Partners, for his outstanding contribution to Greece.
CVC Capital Partners is among the most active institutional investors in Greece having committed more than Euro 1 billion in equity since 2017 across various sectors.
Capital Link recognizes CVC Capital Partners and Alex Fotakidis, the partner heading the Greek investment team, for the positive impact on Greece and the Greek economy with the active investment participation and also for raising the profile of Greece as an investment destination within the global investment community. CVC Capital Partners’ investments are a direct boost to the Greek economy and also a vote of confidence that can help attract additional foreign investments.
