California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis Shares Thanksgiving Message

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Greek-American Lieutenant Governor of California Eleni Kounalakis shared a Thanksgiving message via email on November 26. The text of her message follows:

Around the country, families are celebrating Thanksgiving very differently this year. Smaller turkeys, fewer seats at the table, and lots of Zoom calls, phone calls, texts and video calls. As challenging as it may be, I truly believe that next year, we'll all be together again!

In the meantime, I wanted to reach out to share some of the things I am grateful for. First, I am deeply grateful for all of you, not only for your support but for doing your part to stop the spread of COVID-19 by staying safe this year.

I'm also grateful for those working on the frontlines of this pandemic: the healthcare workers, farmworkers, grocery store employees and so many others who have sacrificed so much to deliver essential services during this pandemic. And last but not least, I am so thankful for my family, my husband Markos and our sons Neo and Eon. This is us, [referring to the photo] making our very first turkey as a family!

Wishing you and all your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving.
