Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
The British Parliament debated the Cyprus issue on September 10. Among matter discussed was the prospect of a settlement through the ongoing talks.
The debate took place on the initiative of MP David Burrowes.
“The Conservative delegate reminded his colleagues that after 40 years of division and continuing presence of more than 40,000 Turkish troops in northern Cyprus ‘every year, every month, every week, every day that goes by is a human tragedy for all Cypriots.;” the Cyprus News Agency reported.
Burrowes said that members of Parliament and the Government of the UK “must not rest until we have a solution to the Cyprus problem which delivers justice and respect for the human rights of all Cypriots.
