Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
QUEENS – New York State Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein (D-Bayside) on June 17 announced the winners of his annual Mother's Day Essay & Poetry Contest for students in grades two through five in Northeast Queens.
The winners were Zoe Olivia Chi, 2nd grade P.S. 31Q in Bayside, Sohana Singh, 3rd grade P.S. 115Q in Glen Oaks, Luana Restrepo, 4th grade P.S. 221Q in Little Neck, and Evan Lianos, 5th grade William Spyropoulos Greek-American Day School in Flushing.
“Thank you to the over 200 students from schools throughout Northeast Queens who participated in my office’s Mother's Day Essay and Poetry Contest,” said Assemblyman Edward Braunstein. “Zoe, Sohana, Luana, and Evan each submitted creative, thoughtful and well-written entries and their families and schools should be very proud.”
All winners received a gift card and a New York State Assembly Certificate of Merit.
