Book of Homilies and Addresses of Archbishop Elpidophoros of America Now Available

Faith in the Time of Covid-19, Homilies and Addresses of Elpidophoros Lambriniadis, Archbishop of America, Great Lent-Pascha 2020, a new book containing the pastoral messages of Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, the spiritual leader of Greek Orthodox Christians in the United States, is now available at https://bit.ly/Faithinthetimeofcovid19

All proceeds will go towards Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America COVID-19 recovery.

The book is being published as we near the first anniversary of the Covid-19 pandemic that forced widespread lockdowns in the United States and around the world. Compiled during an unprecedented year when Churches were forced to close their physical doors and worship turned “virtual,” these reflections are both historical and heartening. Delivering more than thirty addresses from Clean Monday, the first day of Lent, through Pascha to the Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing Women, Archbishop Elpidophoros offers words that bless our lives and guide us to remain faithful during the dark days “when even the light of the Resurrection had to be virtually passed from person to person”.

In his Forward to the book, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew states,“These texts highlight the strength of faith in Christ, which enlightens the whole world, the radiance of the love which does not seek its own, and the comfort of the hope which does not disappoint us. In the life of the Christians, faith, love and hope consist in an undivided existential experience, which emanates the fragrance of the Resurrection.”

In his Introduction, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America writes, “I pray that these reflections will continue to bless your lives, even as your gifts and offerings continue to bless others in their hour of need. We are one community in Christ, one Body of the Church, and just as we must care for every aspect of our physical body, we must show the same concern and love for every member of the Church, and indeed for every human person, for they too are made in the image and likeness of God.”

Faith in the Time of Covid-19, Homilies and Addresses of Elpidophoros Lambriniadis, Archbishop of America is available on Amazon.
