January 18, 2021

ATHENS — The exchange of views on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and the vaccination strategies in the various countries will dominate the video conference to be held on Monday, at 10:00, between the Federal Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz and the leaders of the so-called "First Mover" countries, including Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, according to the Chancellery in Vienna.

The Austrian Chancellor launched this pandemic cooperation initiative with a first teleconference in April, attended by the Prime Ministers of Greece, Denmark, Israel, the Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, and which was followed in the following months by a series of similar contacts between them.

According to the Chancellery, in addition to the Greek Prime Minister, the Prime Ministers of Australia, Denmark, Israel, Norway and the Czech Republic will take part in today's teleconference.

ATHENS - Sending mixed signals, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is continuing to confound Greece's New Democracy government about his intentions after a NATO meeting in Madrid where he refused to meet Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
