Armed Robbers Hold Up Bank Branch in Central Athens at Noon

ATHENS — Two armed robbers took an unspecified sum after holding up a bank branch at 53 Mitropoleos Street in central Athens at noon on Tuesday. According to witnesses, the unidentified individuals had heavy weaponry, with which they threatened customers and staff while removing the money and making their getaway.

Police have launched a sweeping search to find and arrest the culprits.
