ROME - Turkey condemns Greece's decision to expel the Libyan ambassador for the MOU between Turkey and Libya, stated Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Friday.

Speaking to the Italian media, Cavusoglu said: "The expulsion of an ambassador only due to the MOU we signed is not mature behaviour in diplomacy. This is outrageous," he said. "This decision shows the real face of Athens," he added.

Addressing the Forum for Mediterranean Dialogue Rome Med on Friday, the Turkish minister was also asked about the Cyprus issue.

"We wasted so much effort to reach a solution, we supported the dialogue initiatives. Unfortunately, Greece did not support the whole effort. In 2017, only Turkey showed a constructive approach but we will continue the dialogue because the situation on Cyprus has serious repercussions for the wider region".
