University of Athens and Iranian Embassy Sign Agreement for Classes in Greek, Persian

ATHENS -- Iranian students can be taught Greek, while students at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and members of the public can attend lessons in Persian under a Memorandum of Academic and Cultural Cooperation signed by the university and the Education Centre of the Iranian Embassy in Athens, according to an announcement on Monday.

The agreement aims to strengthen Greek-Iranian relations in the science and culture of the two countries and, in addition to the language classes, envisions the joint organisation of conferences and scientific events by AUTH and Iranian universities, scholarships to promote the movement of students and teachers, educational and research programmes, publications and various events.
