ATHENS -- The Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) service in Russia participated in the proceedings of the Russian Geographical Society's committee for the development of tourism, which took place on May 21-22 with the participation of representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of the Russian Federation, scientists, academics and professionals in the tourism industry, in the framework of the Greek-Russian year.
According to a GNTO announcement, the first day took place in the city of Anapa and was dedicated to the "World Ancient Heritage of Greece-Russia", focusing on the ancient Greek cities on the Black Sea coast, as Anapa is built on the site of the ancient Greek city of Gorgipia. At the same time, the GNTO Russia service presented a historical tourist route from Russia to Greece, while a special event for Greek culture was organised at the archaeological site and museum of Gorgipia. On May 22, a boat with the GNTO logo took part in the sailing regatta "The sails of the Bosphorus", organised in Gelendzhik, a large resort in the Krasnodar Krai Region (ancient Greek colony Torikos) and attended by crews from all over Russia, TOs, media and the local municipality.
GNTO's partnership with the Russian Geographical Society will continue next Friday, May 28, where in an online press conference with the cooperation of the TASS news agency, the beginning of the summer tourist season in Greece and Russia will be announced, followed by a competition of Greek gastronomy.
