First Dozen of 21 Mobile Units Arrive in Central Greece for COVID-19 Sample Testing

ATHENS - The first batch of a total 21 mobile medical units of the National Public Health Organisation's (EODY) arrived on Thursday at Larissa, central Greece, to begin collecting samples for Covid-19 in the greater region of Thessaly.

According to EODY's President Panagiotis Arkoumaneas, the 12 customised vehicles will collect samples from the general population and at specific high-risk facilities for statistical purposes.

EODY also noted that on Thursday it collected more samples at the Roma settlement in Nea Smirni, near Larissa, in order to trace the contacts of an outbreak this week, including seven members of the same family.

Samples were also collected at the central Greek city's elderly care facility.
