Seven New Coronavirus Cases since Friday, No New Fatalities in Greece

ATHENS - There are 7 new confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 in Greece since Friday, the Health Ministry's novel coronavirus spokesman Sotiris Tsiodras said in a statement on Saturday.

The total number of cases since the first one broke out in Greece is 2,915. Of these 634 relate to infections that occurred abroad, while 1,696 can be traced to already confirmed cases in Greece.

Hospitalized in intensive care units (ICUs) are 14 people, whose median age is 71, and of whom 4 are women. A total of 85.7 pct had an underlying illness or were aged 70+. Another 106 have been discharged from ICUs since the outbreak.

There were no deaths registered since Friday, with the total fatalities standing at 175. Of these, 52 were women. All had a median age of 76 years and 95.4 pct had an underlying illness and/or were aged 70+ years old.

Overall, Greece has formally completed tests on 178,316 clinical samples.
