ATHENS -- Starting on Thursday, the first KTEL inter-city buses will begin operating bus routes around the capital, Athens, in order to support the public transport system, while their number will gradually increase to 200 by the end of October, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Costas Karamanlis said on Monday, in an interview with SKai TV.

In particular, the minister said that the first 10 additional buses will run on the streets of Athens from Thursday, while a total of 200 buses will be added to the existing fleet by the end of October. These buses will cover the outlying routes, in order to free up urban transport buses to use in the centre of Athens and on the busier bus routes.
