Greece Reports 267 New Coronavirus Cases, 7 Deaths in Last 24 Hours

ATHENS -- The National Organisation for Public Health on Saturday announced a total of 267 new confirmed cases of SARS-Cov-2 in the country, of which 22 were linked to known gatherings and 25 were detected at the entrances into the country. There were seven new deaths from Covid-19 recorded in the last 24 hours.

The new cases bring the total in Greece to 19,613, of which 55.8 pct are men. Of this total, 3,019 (15.4 pct) are linked to travel abroad and 8,025 (40.9 pct) are linked to another known case.

There are 79 people currently on ventilators, whose median age is 69 years old. Of these, 24 are women (30.4 pct) and 86.1 pct have either an underlying condition or are aged above 70 years old. A total of 219 patients have been discharged from ICUs.

The new deaths bring the total in Greece to 405, of which 152 (37.5 pct) are women. The median age of those that have died was 78 and 96.3 pct had either an underlying condition or were aged above 70 years old.
