ATHENS -- Greece confirmed 170 new coronavirus cases on Sunday of which 33 are linked to known clusters and 12 were located at country entry points, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) said.
The total of infections in Greece since the pandemic reached Greece at the end of February is 15,142. Of these, 2,591 are linked to travel abroad and 6,348 to already known cases.
A total of 78 people are intubated, 24 of them being women. The median age of all is 68 years. A 70.5 pct has an underlying cause or is aged 70 or above. a total of 177 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic.
There are, in addition, 7 new deaths and 338 fatalities in total, of whome 126 were women. The median age was 78 years and 96.4 pct had an underlying condition and/or age 70 or more.
Of the 170 new cases, 89 were identified in Attica region. Another 22 are on Samos (all but one linked to the Reception and Identification Center there), another 19 are being traced and 11 were identified in Thessaloniki.
