Greece Confirms 312 New COVID-19 Cases, 3 Deaths in Last 24hrs

ATHENS -- Greece confirmed another 312 coronavirus infections on Wednesday, of which 27 are linked to known clusters and 22 were detected at entry points to Greece, said the National Public Health Organization (EODY).

The grand total of confirmed cases in Greece since the start of the pandemic is 14,041, of which 2,462 are linked to travel abroad and 5,972 to already known cases.

Some 67 people were intubated. Their median age is 70 years, and 20 of them are women. An 88.1 pct has an underlying condition or are aged 70 years and above. A total of 176 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.

In addition, EODY reported 3 more deaths from Covid-19, bringing Greek fatalities to 316. Of these, 118 were women. The median age of all was 78 years and 96.5 pct had an underlying condition and/or age of 70 years or more.

Geographically speaking, the highest concentrations in cases were registered in the Region of Attica (174), Thessaloniki (26) and Pella (11).
