Chiefs of Greek, Turkish Coast Guards Discuss Strengthening of Cooperation

The head of the Greek coast guard Stamatis Raptis welcomed his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Kendir at an official ceremony held at the Shipping Ministry in Piraeus.

Kendir was briefed on the issue of tackling the migrant flows as well on the cooperation of the two coast guards on rescue and research issues.

Both expressed their intention to further strengthen their cooperation through mutually accepted efforts. According to coast guard sources, the aim of the meeting was the development of the cooperation between the two countries in the context of the Confidence Building Measures agreed in the past by the two countries' foreign ministers
