ATHENS - The blood tests collected by NHS units in closed facilities in the centre of Athens, in Galatsi, Nea Smyrni (Attica region) in Korydallos (Piraeus region), in Domokos and Karditsa (central Greece) and in the city of Thessaloniki were all negative to the corovavirus.

NHS units carried out over 1,000 tests.

The priority of the units is the protection of the vulnerable group and the epidemiological surveillance of the virus.

Gradually, a total of 500 units will conduct molecular checks to trace the coronavirus and afterwards, in the context of the epidemiological surveillance, there will be also check of antibodies.

The programme is totally funded by the NSRF Operational Programme and is drawn and implemented by NHS.
