Dance Festival of Kalamata Adapts to Needs of the Coronavirus Era

ATHENS -- The international Dance Festival of Kalamata has changed, for the first time, its appointment with the audience from July to August 21-30 due to the conditions created by the pandemic. The festival that will be held only outdoors, is keeping all its characteristics.

The 21 Greek and foreign productions will be presented at Kalamata Castle Amphitheatre, at the city's main square and at another venue that that will be announced shortly.

The main priority is a safe festival for the people and for those working for it, artists and non-artists.

Regarding the festival, 11 foreign groups, of which seven are performing for the first time in Greece, 10 Greek group and masters of dancing , dance performances that combine different kind of dances from modern to hip-hop to acrobatics and flamenco will turn Kalamata into an international reference point for modern dance in the last 10 days of August.

The foreign groups come from Belgium, Spain, France, The Czech Republic, Israel, Germany and Slovakia.
