CAIRO - Environment and Energy Minister Kostis Hatzidakis will leave for Cairo on Wednesday to take part in the 3rd Ministerial East Med Gas Forum.

On the sidelines of the forum, Hatzidakis will hold bilateral meetings with Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Molla and with his counterparts from Cyprus and Israel, Giorgos Lakkotrypis and Yuval Steinitz, respectively.

Hatzidakis will also attend a dinner hosted by his Egyptian counterpart for the ministers attending the forum, while on Thursday he will participate in the forum itself, which will conclude with the signing of a charter that is the first step for upgrading the East Med Gas Forum into an international organisation of regional scope for the Southeastern Mediterranean.

Besides Greece, countries participating in the forum include Egypt, Cyprus, Israel, Italy, Jordan and Palestine.
