ATHENS - SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras held a video conference on Saturday with representatives of the tourism sector.

Tsipras said that tourism, which accounts for more than 20 pct of GDP, has been significantly affected, with the best-case scenario showing a gradual recovery in the second half of the year. He estimated that losses for the March-May quarter will be over 2.17 billion euros, while more than 38,000 jobs will be lost.

The leader of the main opposition stressed that bold measures are needed to support tourism businesses.
