Number of Greek Coronavirus Cases up to 2,224, Deaths Reach 108

ATHENS — The Health Ministry’s coronavirus spokesman and infectious diseases professor Sotiris Tsiodras on Friday evening announced 17 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Greece in the last 24 hours, and 3 new deaths.

The Covid-19 infections total in Greece stands at 2,224.

Deaths total 108 since the start of the outbreak, of whom 29 were women. Of the 108, the majority had underlying health issues and their average age was over 74 years old.

Some 71 patients are being treated in Intensive Care Units. The average age of these patients is 67 years, and 14 of these are women. An 83.1 pct of ICU patients have underlying health issues or are over 70 years.

A total of 35 people have been discharged from ICUs.
