AHEPA Convention Day 2: First Work, then Fun

Spontaneous gatherings are as valuable as scheduled meetings. Day ATHENS – The second day of the 99th Anniversary Supreme Convention of the Order of AHEPA was packed with business meetings, special presentations, and spontaneous friendship and networking opportunities which are the essence of the largest secular organization of the Hellenic Diaspora.

Highlights for the July 26 proceedings at the Grande Bretagne hotel included AHEPA and Daughters of Penelope general sessions, meetings of the Cyprus Hellenic Affairs and Athletic committees, presentations on Tourism and Greece 2021, and a panel titled SHIPPING After COVID-19, among others.

The evening's big event is the AHEPA 99th Anniversary Event at the Greek War Museum featuring Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos and Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff General Konstantinos Floros.

Tuesday, July 27 highlights include: general sessions, a presentation titled Greek Mainstream Perceptions of Greek-American Expats: The case of AHEPA by Dr. John Nomikos and one titled The Evolution of Greek America in the 21st Century and its Struggle for Survival by Dr. Peter Stavrianidis.

Guests are also looking forward to the AHEPA Family Awards Luncheon with special guest Deputy Foreign Minister Vlasis and Presidential Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus Photis Photiou,and the ever-popular AHEPA Greek Night at the wonderful Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center Honoring Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias of Greece and the President of Hellenic Parliament Konstantinos Tasoulas. There will also be an invitation–only `AHEPA Event at the Presidential Palace' honoring President Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
