BOSTON – Holy Cross – Greek Orthodox School of Theology welcomed 49 students to its campus last week for in-person sessions that were part of the Diaconate Program that was founded in 2008.

The Diaconate Program at HCHC is dedicated to educating, training, and preparing diaconate candidates for service in the Orthodox Church. Through intensive teleturgics training as well as mentoring, and using both comprehensive distance learning and three enriching summer sessions on campus, the program strives to introduce candidates to the rich theology, history, liturgical practices, pastoral approaches, and canonical tradition of the Orthodox Church.

Program officials said “we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the Fathers, professors, seminarians, and, of course, to all the students for dedicating their time and effort to this important journey.
