September 29, 2022

NEW YORK – On September 28, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America released the following statement on Hurricane Ian:

“The path of Hurricane Ian, which has already wrought much destruction in Cuba and is now striking Florida, is a cause of deep concern for our fellow human beings who are trapped in these dreaded circumstances. We offer fervent prayers to God on behalf of all citizens: the government officials who are mustering aid, the First Responders who are directly giving the aid, and all those who are suffering from such a terrible storm. We pray that God will be merciful and spare the lives of the good People of Florida, their homes and institutions, and will be merciful to all those whose lives will be impacted by this hurricane.”
