Antiquities Smuggling Arrest in Thessaloniki

THESSALONIKI – A 67-year old man, owner of a shop in downtown Thessaloniki was arrested for antiquities smuggling.

A raid in his house and his shop revealed objects made of clay dated back to the Bronze Era and the Hellenistic Period as well as Byzantine icons as well as objects from the 19th century.

The suspect will be led before Thessaloniki prosecutor.
