Anthoula Katsimatides in “How To Win An Ex-Girlfriend Back” (Video)

July 12, 2018

NEW YORK – Actor, producer, writer, voice over artist, and radio show host Anthoula Katsimatides appears in a charming video by her friend and co-star John Solo who also wrote the short piece, entitled How to Win an Ex-Girlfriend Back, episode 1 of the Captain Sensitivity series. Solo is also the co-owner of Grand Cafe which Astoria natives will immediately recognize in the video.

Katsimatides said of the video, “He wrote this and asked me to play his ex-girlfriend Maria, with a strong Queens accent and attitude! Total throwback to ‘freestyle’ in NYC. It was so much fun collaborating with him and his crew and doing what we love. And no, we never actually dated! We are just talented actors!”

With many film, theatre, and television roles to her credit, Katsimatides, who was born in Astoria to parents from Nisyros, recently appeared in the acclaimed Nikos Kazantzakis biopic directed by Yannis Smaragdis.

“A proud member of SAGAFTRA and AEA,” Katsimatides writes on her website, “I love acting but also dance (expert Greek dancer), produce, do voice-overs and commercial work, have my own radio show every other Thursday night on 91.5FM at 7pm called ‘Color Your Life!’ I always sought creative outlets and so I am involved in many charitable endeavors. Specifically, I am so proud of the JaM Foundation for Life, created in memory of my loving brothers, John and Michael. As a board member of the National September 11th Memorial and Museum, I volunteer my time to ensure that the site is a place of respectful remembrance and hope!”
