Androulakis Urges Voters to Grant PASOK-Movement for Change a Strong Mandate

ATHENS – Opposition PASOK-Movement for Change leader Nikos Androulakis declared the start of the party’s campaign for the general elections in a speech to the Central Committee on Sunday, in which he strongly criticised both ruling New Democracy and main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance.

“A strong PASOK-Movement for Change from the first Sunday so that the country does not fall into the instability that the forces of ND and SYRIZA are preparing to lead us to…this is the only thing that interests them, [power] and not what’s in the public interest,” he said.

He called upon all members of the party, candidates and democratic citizens to be united in supporting the party’s effort and promised that, if the goal was achieved, on the very next day he will propose reaching an understanding on the major challenges facing the country that was based on PASOK’s programme.

“I promise today to every Greek man and woman that if they give us a strong mandate, a message of renewal and prospects, we will repay this with dignity and reliability, opening up the very next day, on the basis of our programme, a dialogue on a field of convergences, not a field of conflicts and division,” he said.
