Androulakis: The Italian Elections Result a Negative Development

September 26, 2022

ATHENS – “For too many years the Italian political system made the far right seem mainstream. Salvini was my colleague from ’14 until the previous Italian elections. They gave them too much ground. They ‘normalised’ far-right rhetoric and, to a certain extent, the pro-Russian far-right rhetoric,” commented PASOK-KINAL leader Nikos Androulakis in an interview with Open TV on Monday.

He underlined that the victory of the far-right party in the Italian elections was “a rather negative development.”

Androulakis argued that “(SYRIZA leader Alexis) Tsipras and (Prime Minister Kyriakos) Mitsotakis have the same strategy. They want to take a share of PASOK. But, they won’t succeed!”
