Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS — "Palestine is an ardent supporter of the observance of international law, so we would not have entered into any agreement or settlement without relying on this principle," Marwan Toubassi, the Palestinian ambassador to Greece, said in a written statement regarding maritime zones and Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ) in the Eastern Mediterranean.
"Our position on any issue concerning the waters of the Eastern Mediterranean and the EEZs there is confined by our commitment to the provisions of International Law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, in which we are members, as well as the rights provided to us under this treaty. Palestine is an ardent supporter of the observance of international law, therefore we would not have entered into any agreement or settlement without relying on this principle. Similarly, Palestine expects all countries to respect Palestinian rights, including its territorial waters and EEZ," Toubassi said.
