Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS – Alternate Migration and Asylum Minister Giorgos Koumoutsakos on Friday met with the coordinator of UNICEF in Greece Lucio Melandri, with whom he discussed Greece’s initiative to organise the “European Conference for Children and Migration” that will be held in the first months of summer.
The Greek initiative, which focuses on the issue of unaccompanied children that arrive as migrants and refugees, is supported by the European Commission and by all relevant agencies, as well as by UN agencies such as UNCHR, UNICEF and the International Organisation for Migration. It is a reflection of the high priority given by the Greek government to this sensitive and complex aspect of migration.
