Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
Alex Iliades and his family's Farm Grill & Rotisseries in Newtown, MA – and in nearby Needham – like other restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic took to take-out and other methods to keep going, but they had a Greek edge.
A Greek beer edge. On National Lager Day they offer beers from Greece, including established brands like Fix, Mythos, and Nissos to go along with domestic craft beers, one of which bears a name familiar to Greeks: Opa Opa.
Farm Grill has been around for more than 20 years, becoming a favorite for its family-style cooking as well as catering, with a menu that has a distinctly Greek flavor: Greek salad, gyros, spicy feta spread, dolmades, tzatziki, and lamb.
It's been difficult and in a note to customers he and his family said that, “while we feel confident in our safety practices within the restaurant, we understand if you feel more comfortable staying home during this time. Good food can be especially comforting during stressful times, and we encourage you to take advantage of our delivery and take out services should you need a little pick-me-up.” Opa Opa.
